SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — Tonight’s main stage Republican presidential debate begins at 8 p.m. Eastern. Word here is that it will go all the way until 11 p.m., a three-hour, 11-candidate marathon.
The Fox News debate in Cleveland only lasted two hours, but a record surge of 24 million viewers showed just how much interest there is in this race. CNN is reportedly charging $200,000 for a 30-second ad — 40 times its normal rate. Now it will get an extra hour’s worth.
The man at center stage, Donald Trump, griped about the extra long session on Twitter.
Will be heading over to the debate soon. Can you believe @CNN is "milking" it for almost 3 hours? Too long, too many people on stage!
